Terms of Service

YourBookReady is web-based software for self-publishing authors. You upload a finished manuscript, and the software, which uses automated tools including artificial intelligence, formats the interior of your book, generates cover designs and produces the files you need: a print-ready interior PDF, an EPUB eBook file, an editable Word (DOCX) file and print-ready cover PDFs. You can adjust the result in an online editor and generate the files again. Optional add-ons, such as additional covers, a translated edition or a publishing kit, are described, with their prices, before you buy them.

You provide the text of your book. The Service does not write, proofread or edit it. Your manuscript is set as you wrote it, and you remain responsible for its spelling, grammar and accuracy.

The files are prepared to the published specifications of Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) for the trim sizes we offer. Each printer, retailer and platform makes its own decisions about the files it accepts.

The Service does not use passwords. You access your books through private links and one-time sign-in codes sent to the email address you give us. Anyone who has one of these links or codes can open the related book, so keep them private and do not share them. Please tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your book without your permission.

You keep all rights to the manuscripts, images and other material you upload, and to the books produced from them (“Your Content”). We do not claim ownership of Your Content.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, adapt and transmit Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you, including through the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy. This license lasts while we store Your Content and ends when it is deleted. We do not publish or sell Your Content, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.

You confirm that you own Your Content or have all the rights needed to use it in this way, and that it does not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights of anyone else.

You may not use the Service to produce content that:

• defames, harasses or unlawfully exposes an identifiable real person;
• promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability;
• sexualizes minors in any way;
• incites or glorifies violence, terrorism or crime, or gives instructions for committing crimes;
• uses a photo or likeness of a real person without their permission, for example on a cover;
• infringes the intellectual property rights of others; or
• is otherwise unlawful in Brazil or in the country where you live.

We may refuse, stop or remove the production of any content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law.

Parts of the Service, such as layout decisions, cover artwork and translated editions, are produced with artificial intelligence. AI output can contain errors, inconsistencies or elements that do not match your intent. Review every file carefully before you publish, print or distribute it. Delivering the files does not mean that we have checked facts, verified the content or confirmed that it meets the requirements of any printer, retailer or platform.

Some publishing platforms require authors to disclose AI-generated or AI-assisted content. Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), for example, asks whether the text, images or translations in a book were generated by AI. You are responsible for answering these questions accurately and for following the content and disclosure policies of each platform where you publish.

Books on health, medicine, nutrition, psychology, law, finance, investment or any other specialized subject are for information only and reflect the author’s experience and opinions. Producing such a book through the Service does not make its content professional advice. We are not responsible for decisions that you or others make based on the content of your book.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com (“Paddle”). Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle processes your payment, calculates and collects any applicable sales tax or VAT, issues your receipt and handles refunds and payment questions. When you buy, you also accept Paddle’s Buyer Terms.

Prices are shown in US dollars and are one-time payments, not subscriptions. A book formatting purchase covers one book, and each add-on applies to the book it was bought for. Any tax that applies is shown at checkout before you pay. We do not receive or store your card details. Your order is confirmed when Paddle confirms the payment, after which your files are made available to you.

You can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, as described in our Refund Policy.

The Service, including its software, templates, page designs, brand and website content, belongs to us or our licensors. Once your order is paid, you may use the files the Service generates for you to publish, print, distribute and sell your book in any format and territory. You may not resell the Service, or our templates and designs on their own, as a separate product.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify MLP Editoração Eletrônica LTDA and its partners and staff against claims by third parties, and the related losses and reasonable costs, arising from Your Content, from the publication or distribution of your book, or from your breach of these Terms or of the law.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that your files will be accepted by any printer, retailer or platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the order concerned.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your data, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms or the law. If we cancel a paid order when you are not at fault, you will receive a full refund.

We may update the Service and these Terms. The current version is always published on this page with its “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you before it applies to new orders. Orders already placed remain subject to the Terms in force when they were placed.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, and the courts of the city of São Paulo, State of São Paulo, Brazil, have jurisdiction over any dispute.

If you are a consumer, this choice of law and courts does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of that country where its law allows you to do so.
